Adjunct Faculty - NSA Grant

About the role

Adjunct Faculty are hired each term on an as-needed basis for the National Security Agency Grant train participants, 75% of whom are first responders (Law enforcement, Fire Fighters, EMT) and military (veterans, active, and reserve).

Responsibilities

• Create a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals.
• Provide effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the NSA Grant Directors and Principal Investigators.
• Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
• Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
• Optimizes course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
• Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
• Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
• Show evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.
• Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, comply with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.
• Ensure knowledge of and implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.

Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction.
• Meet faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 for the specific area(s) of instruction.

Qualifications

• Possess an earned master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in information assurance or related field as appropriate to the program.
• Possess an earned related or out-of-accredited institution, with documented 18 semester hours or equivalent of courses beyond the introductory principle(s) level in information assurance or related field as appropriate to the program.
• Possess an earned related or out-of-accredited institution, with documentation in two or more of the following: Professional certification (national, regional or state), two years of in-field professional employment, documented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of award, documented research and publication in the field, documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent, subject matter vendor, or military.
• Possess an earned bachelor degree from a regionally accredited institution in information assurance or related field as appropriate to the program, with documentation in two or more of the following: Professional certification (national, regional or state) in the field, two years of in-field professional employment, documented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of award, documented research and publication in the field, documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor's degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent, subject matter vendor, or military.
