Unless otherwise specified in the adjunct faculty member’s letter of appointment, workload consists solely of instruction. All faculty are expected to engage in effective teaching and assessment of student learning.

- Salary Information: Effective August 1, 2021, Adjunct Faculty assigned to semesters will be compensated at the rate of at least one thousand fifty one dollars and 50 cents ($1051.50) per credit. Effective September 1, 2024, Adjunct Faculty assigned to quarters will be compensated at the rate of at least seven hundred and seventy-five dollars ($775) per credit. The minimum compensation for quarterly online course teaching will be nine hundred ($900) dollars per credit.

Appointment as an adjunct faculty member does not confer any right to subsequent appointment for additional quarters or semesters. To be considered eligible for appointment into the position, applicants must be available and able to start in the position no later than the date specified in the letter of appointment. This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value, as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check prior to beginning employment. After starting employment, employees will complete the required training via Canvas. Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise is required for teaching in the discipline associated with appointment as an adjunct faculty member; expertise is normally demonstrated by one or more of the following: A Bachelor’s Degree or applicable certification for the discipline One or more years of prior teaching experience One or more years of experience working in a non-academic capacity associated with the discipline, such as in a business, industry, or in another professional non-academic capacity Demonstrated ability to apply a responsive and flexible approach that is supportive to the needs including universal access of our students, faculty staff and the public.

- Responsibility / Duty: Teaching workload for individuals appointed to an adjunct faculty position will be specified in their individual letter of appointment. Teaching includes the following additional related responsibilities as defined in the faculty CBA: Meet all scheduled classes Plan, organize and inform students of the course content, texts, readings, assignments, attendance regulations and methods of evaluation including grading scales Schedule and attend office hours Turn in grades according to established deadlines
