Adjunct Faculty, Massage Therapy (Non-Modality Courses)
Position Summary
The Adjunct Faculty member will teach in-person non-modality Massage Therapy courses, such as MAS 114 – Massage: Business and Communications I, at the Vernon Hills campus. Classes may be held during the daytime, evening, or on Saturdays.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses in the subject field.
- Develop and maintain instructional materials and lesson plans.
- Assess student learning and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain accurate records and submit grades by deadlines.
- Stay current in the discipline through professional development.
- Attend required adjunct faculty meetings in Fall and Spring semesters.
Labor & Employment Law
- Follow all college policies, including Title IX and Clery Act compliance.
- Support students through consultation, advising, and referrals to appropriate services.
- Rewrite and update course content when necessary.
- Participate in program advisory boards and college committees as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Massage Therapy, Preventive Health, Wellness, Exercise Science, or a related field and one year of relevant experience, ORBachelor’s degree in any field and two years of relevant experience, ORAssociate degree and two years of relevant experience. For Modality classes only: Must hold a current Illinois Massage Therapy license or appropriate certification/license in the modality being taught.
- PREFERRED: Previous college-level teaching experience.Administrative experience in health, wellness, or exercise science.Familiarity with Canvas or similar course management systems.Participation in professional learning such as ACUE or data-driven pedagogical workshops.
Compensation
Per Load Hour Pay: 2024–2025: $1,323 2025–2026: $1,373 2026–2027: $1,414
