About the role
The Arizona College of Nursing seeks adjunct instructors to teach on campus and in-person. This position requires a master’s degree or higher in the discipline or a master’s degree with 18 graduate credit hours relevant to the discipline. Applicants should have at least two years of practical experience in the course content area or three years of experience if the degree is in an unrelated field. A minimum of three years of work experience as an educator is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide a learning experience in the classroom, online, and/or in the lab using various teaching methods including lectures and demonstrations.
- Use audiovisual and technological aids to supplement presentations.
- Evaluate student achievements through grading tests and projects, maintaining grade books, tracking attendance, and performing other administrative duties.
- Administer oral, written, or performance tests to measure progress and evaluate training effectiveness.
- Participate in ongoing conferences, seminars, and training sessions.
- Provide ongoing student advisement and academic counseling.
- Identify and refer students who are “at risk” of not being successful to the Student Success Coordinator.
- Provide input and participate in academic committees.
Requirements
- Masters’ degree or higher from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- A minimum of 15 credit hours or equivalent in the assigned subject area.
- Two years of practical experience in the course content area with a related degree, or three years of practical experience if the degree is in an unrelated field.
- A minimum of three years of work experience as an educator preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English.
