About the role

The University of Scranton’s Department of Health and Human Performance has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct faculty to staff a variety of courses each semester in the fields of Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Public Health. Adjunct faculty may instruct one or more courses each semester on an “as needed” basis. A particular need is common in Nutrition and Public Health.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a specified course(s)
  • Prepare course materials
  • Provide support and guidance to students
  • Report grades

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Kinesiology, Public Health, Nutrition and Dietetics, or similar discipline required
  • For nutrition courses: current registration and active status with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, along with active membership in good standing with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Certifications in a field relevant to the course, if applicable

Qualifications

  • Preference given to candidates with ABD or PhD in Kinesiology, Public Health, or Nutrition/Dietetics
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Willingness to be flexible in class scheduling
