About the role
Virginia Western Community College seeks adjunct faculty members to teach in various health-related fields. Positions are available on an as-needed, course-by-course, semester basis.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in health-related fields as assigned.
- Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum.
- Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.
- Supervise student learning and provide feedback.
- Engage in ongoing professional growth through participation in conferences and workshops.
Requirements
- AAS degree in a health-related field.
- Health Professions Certification or Credential (e.g., RN, OTA, PTA, R.T.(R), R.T.(T), Surgical Technologist, RDH, EMT-P, etc.).
- At least five years of current health professions experience.
- Supervisory or teaching experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field is preferred.
- Preferred teaching experience in a health-related field.
SkillsExcellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on an as needed, course-by-course, semester basis. Hours and days vary based on course offerings and enrollment.
Pay
Hiring range is $793 - $1278 per credit hour; faculty rank determined when credentialed.
