Health Professions Adjunct Faculty

About the role

Virginia Western Community College seeks adjunct faculty members to teach in various health-related fields. Positions are available on an as-needed, course-by-course, semester basis.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in health-related fields as assigned.
• Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum.
• Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.
• Supervise student learning and provide feedback.
• Engage in ongoing professional growth through participation in conferences and workshops.

Requirements

• AAS degree in a health-related field.
• Health Professions Certification or Credential (e.g., RN, OTA, PTA, R.T.(R), R.T.(T), Surgical Technologist, RDH, EMT-P, etc.).
• At least five years of current health professions experience.
• Supervisory or teaching experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field is preferred.
• Preferred teaching experience in a health-related field.

SkillsExcellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.

Benefits

Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on an as needed, course-by-course, semester basis. Hours and days vary based on course offerings and enrollment.

Pay

Hiring range is $793 - $1278 per credit hour; faculty rank determined when credentialed.
