About the role

The Adjunct Faculty - Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Program supports instruction within the EMS Programs at Olympic College. This position plays a key role in ensuring students receive effective, evidence-based EMS education through various instructional methods.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction for EMT courses including didactic, skills labs, clinical supervision and evaluation, and/or simulation-based instruction.
  • Mentor, assist, and remediate students to support mastery of course objectives and outcomes.
  • Coordinate and deliver didactic, lab, clinical, and/or field internship instruction, ensuring consistency and alignment with course outcomes.
  • Remain current on industry-recognized means of instruction and learning processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of students and complete forms as required.
  • Document each student's progress; determine, in collaboration with the student, a plan for achieving success.
  • Participate in theory and clinical course evaluation identifying both strengths and areas for development.
  • Participate in course planning, evaluation, and curriculum feedback in collaboration with the Program Coordinator and Medical Program Director.
  • Participate in meetings, orientations, trainings, and evaluation activities for assigned quarters as needed.
  • Establish and maintain relations with internal and external constituencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator supporting the effective administration and delivery of the EMS Paramedicine Program.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Hold a minimum of an Associate degree from an accredited institution or minimum of three (3) years documented experience coordinating or delivering EMS education or administration in a related field.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare, science, or education-related field. Washington State Department of Health Senior EMS Instructor certification. Experience teaching in a CAAHEP-accredited Paramedic or EMS education program. Familiarity with the National EMS Education Standards and evidence-informed clinical practice. Experience using learning management systems, simulation equipment, and EMS instructional technology.
