Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality learning experiences and education for students in the BS in Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Echocardiography.
- Teach lab instruction covering subjects such as parasternal long axis, parasternal short axis, apical views, doppler, and strain.
- Provide an approved syllabus that includes course objectives, learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies, texts and readings, assignments, timelines, and evaluation criteria.
- Develop engaging assignments that demonstrate real-world applications of concepts covered.
- Post syllabus, assignments, and other materials using the University’s learning management system and communicate with students through various approved mechanisms.
- Offer advice and assistance to students during office hours, scheduled appointments, videoconferences, phone calls, and emails.
- Mentor students and participate in ongoing course development and assessment.
- Teach introductory scanning techniques and imaging protocols including parasternal long axis, parasternal short axis, apical views, doppler, and strain.
- Provide feedback to students on protocols, quizzes, and exams.
- Collaborate with colleagues to instruct students and manage lab activities.
- Proctor classes, quizzes, and exams as assigned.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in echocardiography.
- Experience teaching in higher education or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of medical sonography and echocardiography principles and procedures.
