Adjunct Faculty - DMS Echocardiography

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality learning experiences and education for students in the BS in Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Echocardiography.
  • Teach lab instruction covering subjects such as parasternal long axis, parasternal short axis, apical views, doppler, and strain.
  • Provide an approved syllabus that includes course objectives, learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies, texts and readings, assignments, timelines, and evaluation criteria.
  • Develop engaging assignments that demonstrate real-world applications of concepts covered.
  • Post syllabus, assignments, and other materials using the University’s learning management system and communicate with students through various approved mechanisms.
  • Offer advice and assistance to students during office hours, scheduled appointments, videoconferences, phone calls, and emails.
  • Mentor students and participate in ongoing course development and assessment.
  • Teach introductory scanning techniques and imaging protocols including parasternal long axis, parasternal short axis, apical views, doppler, and strain.
  • Provide feedback to students on protocols, quizzes, and exams.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to instruct students and manage lab activities.
  • Proctor classes, quizzes, and exams as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in echocardiography.
  • Experience teaching in higher education or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of medical sonography and echocardiography principles and procedures.
