Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in literacy or reading
  • A minimum of 3 years of successful teaching in P-12 settings or working with adult literacy

Responsibilities

We offer two developmental reading courses for Rowan students depending on their Accuplacer score, Improving Personal Reading Skills and Critical Thinking and Reading of Academic Texts. Both courses focus on comprehension strategies, vocabulary development, study skills, and decision making across a broad spectrum of academic majors.

Benefits

The University will not sponsor a visa for this position. In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, and in accordance with the current MOA, Rowan University adjuncts are provided with a minimum of $2,225 per credit for all courses taught, with a maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year. Courses will be assigned to instructors by College & Department on an as-needed basis.

Pay

The starting salary range for this position is $2,225 per credit for up to 8 credits per semester, with a maximum of 12 credits in an academic year.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is open and continuous, with assignments made by the College & Department based on need.
