Position Overview

STLCC seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to teach in the Criminal Justice department. The role involves delivering high-quality instruction aligned with STLCC curriculum standards, facilitating engaging learning experiences, and supporting student success. This is an onsite position, with face-to-face instruction required at the Forest Park campus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver course content using approved syllabi and instructional materials
  • Use the college’s learning management system (Canvas) for grading and online course activities
  • Audit and provide feedback on student performance
  • Hold office hours for student consultation (minimum of one hour per course)
  • Maintain required records and submit reports on time
  • Attend required trainings and meetings, including annual adjunct training sessions

Qualifications

  • Required: Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Criminal Justice, Law (JD), Psychology, Social Work, or Sociology
  • Preferred: Experience with Canvas or other learning management systems
  • Ability to integrate technology and innovative learning practices into instruction
  • Availability to teach face-to-face at least 2 days per week between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
