Adjunct Continuing Education Instructor- Funeral Director

Job Duties

• Develop and deliver continuing education courses for licensed funeral directors in accordance with state regulatory requirements
• Ensure course content is current, evidence-based, and aligned with applicable funeral service laws
• Prepare instructional materials and presentations
• Foster a professional, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
• Demonstrates Iowa Western Community College’s core mission, vision, and values
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Active Funeral Director License in good standing
• Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in funeral service
• Demonstrated knowledge of current funeral service laws, regulations, and ethical standards
• Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to articulate in both small and large group settings
• Able to teach adult learners in person
• Able to pass a background check with valid driver's license

Physical Demands

• Cognitive Requirements: Normal Office
• Physical Demands: Frequent sitting, frequent use of hands for computer operations, occasional lifting up to 30-50 lbs.
