About the Role

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is accepting applications for part-time Adjunct Dental Technology Instructor positions across its nine colleges for the 2027 Academic School Year. This posting establishes a pool of qualified applicants for future openings. Applicants may indicate their preferred colleges of interest and may be interviewed by Health Sciences members at one or more campuses. Final assignment is contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.

The LACCD serves over 225,000 students annually across 600 associate degree and 400 certificate programs, contributing significantly to the regional economy and the greater Los Angeles area.

Responsibilities

• Teach Dental Technology classes, fostering engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning.
• Demonstrate cultural responsiveness in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds, including varied languages, nationalities, ethnicities, socio-economic levels, ages, identities, abilities, and educational experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment, or
• Associate’s degree and six years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment.
• Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Requirements

• All students and employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved exemption per LACCD Board of Trustees’ Policy 2900. New hires must provide vaccination status prior to or by their start date.
• A medical certificate indicating fitness to instruct or associate with students is required at the applicant’s expense after selection and prior to employment.
• All degrees must be granted by an accredited U.S. college or university. Foreign transcripts must include an approved equivalency evaluation from a service recognized by the California Commission on Teaching Credentialing.

Pay

Adjunct instructor compensation begins at $89.72 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $20.99 per hour for classroom assignments. Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.
