Adjunct - AY27 Pharmacy Technician Instructor

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is the largest community college district in the United States, comprising nine colleges serving over 40 cities in Southern California. About the role

The LACCD is accepting applications for Adjunct Pharmacy Technician Instructor positions for the 2026 Academic School Year to establish a pool of qualified applicants. When a campus has an opening, the hiring location will review applications from this pool. Applicants with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population are strongly encouraged to apply. Final determination of assignments is contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.

During the application process, applicants may indicate their preferred LACCD colleges for employment. Qualified applicants may be interviewed by Allied Health Department members at one or more of LACCD’s nine colleges.

Responsibilities

• Teach a range of courses within the Pharmacy Technician discipline, fostering engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning.
• Demonstrate cultural responsiveness in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds, including languages, nationalities, ethnicities, socio-economic levels, ages, identities, abilities, and educational experiences.
• Conduct classes in a virtual learning environment using Canvas or other remote learning methods, if required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience; OR
• Associate’s degree and six years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment; OR
• Associate’s degree, an accredited Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT), and four years of professional experience.
• Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
• Verification of Experience letters on letterhead stationery, showing inclusive dates of assignments, full-time or part-time status, and duties. If part-time, the number of paid hours worked per week, semester, or year must be included. (Signed hard copies required if selected for an interview.)

Qualifications

Applicants with certification in Blackboard, Canvas, Course Compass, or other online modalities may be given preference.

Eligibility

All employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved exemption, pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustees’ Policy 2900. Newly hired employees must provide their vaccination status prior to starting their position.

Pay

The salary for adjunct instructors begins at $89.72 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $20.99 per hour for classroom assignments. Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.
