Adjunct Assistant Professor, Phlebotomy Program in Emerging Technologies

Each part-time faculty member reports to a chair or director, satisfies criteria for accreditation, possesses subject matter expertise, and has instructional and institutional responsibilities including designing courses, delivering instruction, evaluating student learning, incorporating college-required technology, maintaining effective communication, and engaging in ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and deliver instruction in didactic, laboratory, and/or classroom settings to promote student success within a community college setting.
• Support and promote the college and departmental missions centered on excellence in teaching and learning through quality instruction, curriculum enhancement, and service.
• Collaborate with department chair, faculty, and peers to evaluate, revise, and develop curriculum to cultivate the mastery of course content.
• Strictly honor the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal, and college regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Provide students with frequent, timely assessment of and clear feedback regarding academic performance.
• Appropriately document student progress and maintain records including attendance, grading, and student learning outcomes.
• Maintain appropriate office hours proportionate to the instructional assignment.
• Assist with coordinating clinical internships.
• Correlate clinical education with didactic education and evaluate student performance and learning.
• Maintain current knowledge of the discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development.
• Participate in meetings and program advisory committee work as designated.
• Assist with implementation of college policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with SF college philosophy, values, and mission.
• Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in any combination of qualifying fields or an associate degree and/or demonstrated competencies through certification or work experience.
• Ability to deliver a high level of interactive customer service, develop and maintain collaborative relationships, and communicate effectively.
• Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with the Microsoft Suite of Office Applications.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule at multiple sites.
• Ability to work well with students, faculty, and staff at all levels within a diverse, multi-cultural, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

Preferred: Relevant teaching experience.

Pay

Salary is determined per the SF Salary Schedule.

Schedule

Course offerings will be taught in the evenings. Candidates must have the flexibility to teach assigned time and format throughout the academic year.
