About the role

The mission of the USC Rossier School of Education is to prepare leaders to achieve educational equity through practice, research, and policy. We work to improve learning opportunities and outcomes in urban settings and to address disparities that affect historically marginalized groups. Responsibilities

  • Deliver instruction and provide subject matter expertise to support students' understanding of collaborative professionalism, with an emphasis on collective expertise and shared responsibility among educators.
  • Analyze and apply strategies for fostering collaborative cultures in schools and promoting equitable and inclusive outcomes.
  • Support students in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to build and sustain strong, collaborative teams that contribute to improved outcomes for students.
  • Facilitate learning experiences that examine effective practices for attracting and retaining high-quality educators, aligning with the school's mission, vision, and commitment to serving diverse populations.
  • Provide guidance and feedback on students' selected problems of practice within their professional field.
  • Prepare and deliver content and course materials, including presentations, handouts, and toolkits.
  • Ensure assigned readings comply with copyright regulations.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience at a public-school site as a district leader, acting principal, and/or superintendent.
  • A Doctor of Education (Ed.D) or PhD.
  • Experience with teaching and learning, including staff supervision and evaluation, with extensive knowledge and experience in evaluating teaching data-driven decision-making, leadership, communication, and research-based pedagogy.
  • A California Clear Administrative Credential.
  • Skills in using a Learning Management System and teaching online.
  • Access to a computer with Internet, microphone, and camera for all online sessions.
  • Experience in teaching online using Adobe Connect is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience in evaluating teaching data-driven decision-making, leadership, communication, and research-based pedagogy.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $7,457- $9,587 per course. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

Schedule

The adjunct faculty member for EDUC 641X is responsible for delivering instruction in an online synchronous setting, for a period of fifteen (15) weeks, one night per week for two (2) hours (synchronous).
