About the role

The Department of Social and Psychological Sciences at Daley College is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach African American History in the Fall 2026 semester.

Responsibilities

- Demonstrate excellence in teaching and integrate new technologies in the learning process. - Maintain office hours for advising, mentoring, and coaching students. - Develop and revise courses and instructional materials as needed. - Post syllabi and grades on Blackboard.

Qualifications - External

- A PhD in African American Studies, or PhD in History or another social scientific discipline with significant coursework in African American studies, is preferred. - A minimum of a Master's degree in African American Studies, History, or another social scientific discipline with relevant coursework in African American studies. - Focus on effective teaching, assessment of student learning, and continuous growth in the field. - Expertise in student-centered teaching, proficiency with instructional technology, particularly Blackboard Learning Management System, and commitment to teaching professional development.

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $800.00 - $943.00 per contact hour, based on City Colleges approved salary scale.
