About the role

Adel Elementary is seeking a highly motivated, quality applicant to work as a 1:1 associate at Adel Elementary, a preschool through 1st grade building. The staff at Adel Elementary is incredibly caring and works in a collaborative manner.

Schedule

Monday–Thursday: 7:45 am – 3:45 pm
Friday: 7:45 am – 1:15 pm

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or in small groups to help achieve skills and understanding of class material.
• Work with a wide range of various needs, including academic, behavior, and social.
• Read to students, listen to students read, and participate in other forms of oral communication with the students.
• Guide each student toward making appropriate choices and accepting responsibility for their own behavior.
• Assist the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on an understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities.
• Alert the regular teacher to any problem or special information regarding an individual student.
• Supervise students outside during arrival, recess, dismissal, and may provide lunchroom supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work well with staff, parents, and students.

Pay

$16.36 – $18.16 per hour.
