ADM Middle School Associate 26-27

ADM Middle School is seeking dynamic, passionate student-focused associates for 7th and 8th grade levels. The staff at the Middle School are incredibly caring and work in a collaborative manner. The approximate hours for this position are 7:30am–3:45pm Monday–Thursday and 7:30am–12:45pm Friday.

About the Role

The associate role assists the teacher in supporting specific learning goals by working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve appropriate skill levels.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or in small groups to help achieve skills and understanding of class material.
• Work with a wide range of various needs, including academic, behavioral, and social.
• Read to students, listen to students read, and participate in other forms of oral communication with students.
• Guide each student toward making appropriate choices and accepting responsibility for their own behavior.
• Assist the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on an understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities.
• Alert the regular teacher to any problem or special information regarding an individual student.
• Supervise students outside during arrival, recess, and dismissal; may provide lunchroom supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work well with staff, parents, and students.
