POSITION
Assistant Principal (Elementary)
Job Requirements
- A highly qualified leader, current and applicable NYS certification required
- At least five years successful experience as an Educator
- Effective communicator (both written and oral)
- Knowledgeable and attentive to scholar, family, and school community needs
- Demonstrated leadership experience in educational setting
DUTIES
- Demonstrated success in leading teams through productive and challenging work, setting a positive, supportive atmosphere and leading with integrity
- Demonstrated success in urban school settings
- Excellent oral and written communication and conflict resolution skills
- Assist the Principal with the operations of buildings, including but not limited to transportation
- Collaborate with the Principal and Director of Security to manage security staff, building, and issues related to the safety of scholars and staff
- Maintain high standards of scholar conduct and enforce discipline, as necessary, according to the due process rights of scholars
- Administer all of the school policies, rules, and safety regulations
- Help monitor the progress of scholars, and supervise the reports of such progress to parents
- Interact with parent, student, and staff concerns in a sensitive, timely manner
- Be attentive to school - community relationships and work to strengthen scholar and family engagement in education
- All other duties related to the position as assigned by the Superintendent of School
SALARY
Pursuant to the Middletown Administrators Association (MAA) Contract
FINGERPRINT CLEARANCE
Candidates must submit to New York State Department of Education fingerprint clearance.
