About the role

The Cooper addiction medicine division is an interdisciplinary, medical specialty program within our university healthcare setting. Our division provides both inpatient and outpatient specialty care for individuals struggling with substance use disorders through a variety of programs including: Hospital consultation service, Inpatient detoxification/stabilization and residential programs, Emergency department and hospital bridge programs, Community paramedicine and field buprenorphine initiation, Jail transition care, Outpatient group and specialty medical visits, A low barrier walk-in clinic, A wrap-around perinatal SUD program, Dual diagnosis psychiatric and addiction medical care, Integrated addiction and infectious disease care including HIV and hepatitis C treatment, Other innovative community work. We run several clinical innovation, education, and research programs.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate should have a strong desire to shape the delivery of substance use disorder care and be versed in urban underserved care and harm reduction. This physician would report to the division head of addiction medicine and would have an academic appointment at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University.

Requirements

  • Board certified or board eligible in addiction medicine or addiction psychiatry.
  • PREFERRED: Completed fellowship in addiction medicine.
  • Education Requirements: MD or DO from an accredited institution.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Active medical license.
