Job Summary
The Manager of Specialty Sales will oversee and manage sales activities, lead a clinical specialty sales team, and drive Medline brand sales growth.
Major Responsibilities
- Strategically target opportunities.
- Develop business plans and sales strategies.
- Penetrate new markets.
- Cultivate high-level customer relationships.
- Drive Medline brand strategy.
- Manage sales and improve profitability.
- Manage administrative tasks.
- Manage day-to-day operations.
- Manage hiring, training, and development.
Relationships
- Cultivate and maintain high-level clinical customer relationships.
- Navigate a complex, matrixed environment.
Sales Oversight
- Ensure timely, accurate, competitive pricing.
- Manage proposal presentations and RFP responses.
- Provide clinical expertise.
Team Development
- Drive accountability across clinical sales team.
- Conduct reviews with Sales Representatives.
- Build effective communications.
- Understand training and development needs.
- Provide insight for sales and activity performance improvement.
Administrative
- Manage administrative tasks.
- Manage reporting (pricings, sales, and activity reports).
- Manage Medline corporate communication.
- Manage Rep expenses.
- Manage SPA approval and compliance policies.
Management Responsibilities
- Oversee professional employees/teams.
- Contribute to department/project policies.
- Develop, recommend, and implement new policies.
- Provide general guidelines and parameters.
- Hire staff, recommend pay increases, perform performance reviews, train and develop staff.
- Evaluate personnel needs, assign work, meet completion dates, interpret and ensure consistent application of organizational policies.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of clinical sales experience OR at least 7 years of clinical sales experience with at least 2 years of experience as field trainer within sales organization.
- Demonstrated understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements, including Supplier Relationship Management.
- Proven ability to identify, connect with, build consensus and close new business.
- Ability to negotiate contracts and close deals.
- Communication skills to effectively communicate and build relationships with clients.
- Customer service skills required to ensure customers have a positive experience from start to finish.
- Time management skills required to meet sales targets.
- Financial acumen needed to understand financial aspects and to manage contract figures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft products.
- Exposure to and use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
Anticipated Salary Range
$134,000.00 - $201,000.00 Annual
The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities.
