Acute Care Physical Therapist (PRN)

About the role

Assess, plan, and implement rehabilitative programs to improve mobility, reduce pain, and prevent deformities in patients with diseases or injuries. Services are delivered across the continuum in a cost-effective, quality-focused, and patient-centered manner, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and revise treatment plans with patient and family input
• Provide education and discharge instructions
• Act as a referral resource
• Collaborate with physicians for ongoing evaluation and establish realistic discharge goals
• Document evaluations, treatment sessions, and educational materials per departmental protocols
• Maintain ethical practices and uphold confidentiality
• Participate in staff meetings and organize workload efficiently
• Promote a positive environment and demonstrate professionalism
• Adhere to infection prevention protocols
• Engage in ongoing professional development and mandatory training

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy
• Valid PT license
• BLS certification
• Effective communication and customer service focus
• Team orientation and basic computer skills
