Acute Care NP/Physician Associate - Advanced Heart Failure, LVAD & Cardiac Transplant
About the role
MaineHealth Cardiology is seeking a patient-centered, respectful, flexible, and detail-oriented Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate/Assistant to join their growing practice. The successful candidate will provide exemplary cardiac care with a strong focus on advanced therapies such as ventricular assist devices and cardiac transplants. They will work closely with physicians and allied health professionals in a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the patient's experience, care, and treatment plan from the onset of care (both in the inpatient and outpatient settings)
- Discharge and manage ongoing treatment and follow-up
- Work closely with physicians and allied health professionals in a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care
- Interface with many departments and agencies both internally and externally
Requirements
- Successful completion of accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate/Assistant program
- Two years of Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate/Assistant experience preferred
- Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure
- Current BLS certification
- Strong clinical background in either cardiology or internal medicine is required
- Thorough and significant knowledge of the theories, practices, processes and results of current and emerging advanced heart failure technologies and treatment regimens
Qualifications
- Knowledge of advanced HF technologies and treatments is preferred
