Responsibilities
- Lead timely and accurate valuation reporting for US Stat and GAAP reserves and related actuarial items.
- Ensure effective application of valuation governance frameworks, maintaining strong controls, efficient processes, and successful implementation of new products.
- Oversee delivery of annual actuarial filings and support regulatory inquiries with accuracy and responsiveness.
- Guide quantitative teams in transforming data management and valuation processes, including production, financial exhibits, and external surveys.
- Develop and deliver reserve movement and attribution analytics, translating results into clear business insights for stakeholders.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver actionable financial insights to partners across Finance, ERM, Investments, Tax, and Audit.
- Clearly communicate results and key drivers, demonstrating a strong understanding of valuation impacts.
- Anticipate and manage valuation implications related to pricing, reinsurance, and capital initiatives.
- Partner on new business efforts, ensuring seamless integration into valuation processes.
- Provide clear valuation requirements to internal and external technology partners.
- Contribute to assumption setting and governance, including participation in experience studies and ongoing review processes.
- Lead analysis and implementation of valuation methodologies, delivering insights, financial impact assessments, and recommendations.
- Stay ahead of emerging regulations, influencing adoption and ensuring alignment through active participation in industry initiatives when appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and model governance standards in collaboration with audit stakeholders.
- Drive enhancements in valuation data and modeling capabilities through strong partnerships with enterprise data and modeling teams.
- Oversee continuous improvement of valuation models and data processes to strengthen accuracy, scalability, and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, data science or closely related field.
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
- 5+ years’ actuarial experience in valuation and reporting, and/or in life pricing, assumptions development, risk management.
- 3+ years’ exposure to valuation regulations and financial statements under US Statutory and GAAP reporting.
Ideal Qualifications
- Master's Degree or above within actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, data science or closely related field.
- Credentialed actuary (Member of the American Academy of Actuaries) in good standing with SOA CPD requirements; qualified to issue actuarial opinions.
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams, including guiding change management and driving continuous improvement.
- Strong technical expertise in actuarial valuation, including US insurance products, pricing, and cash flow testing/projection methodologies.
- Deep knowledge of life valuation frameworks, including participating products, Principles-Based Reserves (PBR), and GAAP LDTI.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing valuation processes and effectively communicating results to diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build strong cross-functional relationships.
- Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to resolve issues and drive business outcomes collaboratively.
Pay
$159,800 - $209,700
Schedule
Hybrid model with at least three days per week in the office and remote Fridays, company-wide remote weeks, and a bank of flexible remote weeks to use throughout the year.
