About the role

This position fosters a fun work environment centered around celebrating the lives of our residents. It involves planning and leading daily programs and special events that enhance the lifestyle for residents and highlight the positive aspects of life at a Senior Lifestyle Community.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibits creativity, innovation, and willingness to try new things
  • Is a source of positive energy and inspiration to residents, families, and team members
  • Leads daily community programs independently with confidence
  • Pivots in the event of an event no-show, cancellation, or other unanticipated interruptions to the schedule
  • Creates and nurtures community partnerships to enhance life for the residents
  • Fosters a fun work environment centered around celebrating the lives of our residents
  • Plans and leads daily programs within the community
  • Develops opportunities for team members from other departments to create and lead programs
  • Plans and executes special events for residents in collaboration and partnership with the sales and marketing departments
  • Recognizes and honors the individuality, diversity, and spirituality of all residents when planning programs, events, and holiday celebrations
  • Develops and distributes a monthly calendar of events and newsletter that meets SLC program and brand standards by the first of each month
  • Organizes and leads trips outside the community to enhance the opportunities for residents to remain connected to the greater community
  • Develops and coordinates partnerships inside and outside the community to enhance program and event offerings
  • Promotes the lifestyle at the community through an active social media presence and positive partnership with the sales and marketing departments
  • Supports and participates in setting up the seasonal/holiday décor of the community
  • Oversees the resident ambassador program
  • Supports and participates in setting up the seasonal/holiday décor of the community
  • Keeps program flyers, bulletin boards, and digital signs up to date and meets SLC and Brand standards
  • Performs work tasks in a way that preserves each resident's dignity, privacy, and confidentiality
  • Supports and participates in setting up the seasonal/holiday décor of the community
  • Hires, trains, develops, and mentors department employees in accordance with Senior Lifestyle Corporation Human Resources guidelines
  • Safeguards and maintains all department equipment and supplies
  • Manages the department budget and expenses
  • Documents and maintains all records as required to effectively manage the department

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Entry-level (0-3+ years)
  • Must have experience leading small or large group events
  • Acceptable fluency in English in order to perform job duties and speak, read, write, and communicate with all others
  • Certified in event planning, experience leading small and large group programs, experience coordinating community partnerships, specialty skills such as: fitness certification, musically inclined, or artistic skills are preferred
