About the role

The Director of Wellness Programming at MBK Senior Living is responsible for planning, preparing, and directing the overall operation of resident and family engagement, overseeing the resident enrichment department, and implementing MBK signature programs.

Responsibilities

  • Create an environment that promotes resident and family participation in activities.
  • Create and implement resident programs according to standards and preferences.
  • Create and submit a monthly calendar of events.
  • Create and maintain a monthly newsletter for residents, staff, and families.
  • Create and maintain social media under MBK’s Home Office.
  • Coordinate with other team members for special functions, such as holidays and celebratory events.
  • Conduct surveys of residents to determine their interests.
  • Facilitate resident activity planning committees.
  • Oversee transportation of residents, including safe loading, unloading, seating, and transporting.
  • Evaluate transportation program for customer satisfaction.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise department staff.
  • Manage and track budget spending and goals.
  • Encourage resident participation in all activities.
  • Aid in community marketing efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of or ability to obtain State-approved Activity Director Certification.
  • Age 18 or older.
  • Background clearance required (per government regulations).
  • Negative TB test results mandatory.
  • Excellent communication skills, including speaking, writing, and reading English.
  • Solid PC skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy, gerontology, music, art, or a similar field.
  • Certification in Recreational Activity Leadership: APNCC / NAAPCC or similar.
  • Related work experience in a similar environment.
  • Prior supervisory or lead working experience.
  • Working familiarity with several special Microsoft Office Suite software programs.
