About the role
Steamboat is looking for outgoing people to join our team in operating activities including bounce houses, gem mining, and other yard games and activities as assigned. All applicants must be at least 14 years of age and able to lift 50 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Operate the Activities while open
- Inspect and set up all Activities equipment and structures prior to opening
- Ticket and line management, scan tickets, and control line flow while communicating with guests
- Provide guest service in line with our Service Excellence standards
- Properly go over safety briefings with guests
- Talk to guests and help with any questions
- Close and store all equipment properly
- Maintain a clean area around the activities
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
- Attend team meetings as required
- Assist with other Base Area Services including groundskeeping, debris removal, and event set up as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 2 years of previous work history/education required
- Excellent guest service skills; experience in the guest service field is helpful
- Adhere to all safety policies
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Previous experience with activities is a plus
- Basic computer skills for the operation of handheld ticket scanning devices
- Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers, and management consistent with Steamboat Ski and Resort Company's Service Excellence standards
Pay
Steamboat Springs area base hourly pay range: $18.50 - $19.50 per hour.
Physical Requirements
- Must be a minimum of 14 years of age
- Able to lift 50 lbs. and perform moderate to strenuous physical activity with lots of lifting, twisting, and turning
- Must work outside in all weather conditions (heat, snow, cold, sun, and inclement weather)
- Communicate clearly in English; communicate safety procedures clearly and effectively
- Able to stand for long periods of time, physically capable of balancing on uneven surfaces while operating activities
- Good hand/eye coordination
