Acquisitions Sales Representative - Allentown, Pennsylvania
About the role
We're seeking a driven Acquisitions Sales Representative to develop lasting partnerships with college professors. This remote position requires approximately 7 weeks of overnight travel per semester, alternating between one week working from home and the following week on a college campus. The ideal candidate will be located in Pennsylvania (Harrisburg, Lancaster, York, Reading, Allentown) or Maryland (Towson, Hunt Valley, Timonium, Owing Mills, Frederick).
As the driver and decision-maker, you will travel to colleges and universities in your territory to identify business opportunities, interview professors, and persuade author candidates to partner with Kendall Hunt. You will focus on lower-level, higher-enrollment courses to develop interactive and engaging educational materials that address student needs and create lasting impact.

Responsibilities
- Take initiative and work independently with an entrepreneurial mindset, actively problem-solving and utilizing strong critical thinking skills.
- Identify business opportunities by traveling to colleges and universities in your territory.
- Interview professors and persuade author candidates to partner with Kendall Hunt.
- Develop interactive and engaging educational materials for lower-level, higher-enrollment courses.
- Listen for business potential, ask questions, think creatively, and close new business with prospective customers.
- Communicate clearly and confidently with professors, authors, team members, and internal employees.
- Handle multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail and customer service.
- Identify challenges and develop practical solutions in real-time to enhance customer satisfaction and streamline processes.
- Manage responsibilities requiring substantial independent work while collaborating with the team to achieve sales success.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record, in accordance with the company’s corporate driving policy.
- Enjoys spending time on college campuses, as this role involves significant campus visits.
- Strong desire to learn, ask questions, and engage with diverse subject matter.
- Drive to win, excel, and consistently seek improvement in a dynamic market.
