About the role

Member serves as the Senior Technical Acquisition Advisor for Concepts, Development and Management (CDM) programs and projects. Responsible for all acquisition activities of the Air Force Concepts, Development & Management Office (SAF/CDM). Advises the Director on all acquisition and business-related matters and interfaces directly with SAF/AQ and SAF/GCQ for all regulatory acquisition actions. Develops acquisition strategies to ensure that CDM, multiple government, service, and agency requirements are satisfied. Special emphasis is placed on a streamlined program execution that accelerates delivery of operational capabilities to the field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and interpret acquisition and contracting policy.
  • Apply mastery of DOD and Air Force policy and procedures, including events and milestones in contracting activities.
  • Assess and improve plans and programs for managing, planning, budgeting, and executing operations utilizing diverse support structures and inter-agency cooperation on advanced concepts.
  • Apply knowledge of Surveillance & Reconnaissance systems; Special Communications; Information Operations; Collection Management and Operations; Research, development, test and engineering; Systems integration; Cyberspace Operations; Cyberspace information assurance and security systems; Information Systems; Data Engineering; Planning, Programming, & Budgeting System (PPBS), special operations, or similar operations.
  • Utilize policies, principles, concepts, guidance, procedures, techniques, and methodologies pertaining to budget formulation and financial management.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of revolving funds and annual and multiple-year appropriations as they relate to acquisition processes.
  • Understand Defense Intelligence Enterprise (DIE) program goals and objectives, key operational events and milestones, and methods of evaluating planning actions.
  • Gather, assemble, and analyze facts; draw conclusions; conduct analysis; devise recommended solutions; and package findings in briefings, papers, or reports for top management use and decision-making.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • This is a designated Drug Testing Position.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a “Top Secret” security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Must meet the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
  • Must file a Confidential Financial Disclosure report upon appointment and annually.
  • Selectee must be a member of an Acquisition Corps at the time of appointment.
  • Mobility is a condition of employment; must sign an Air Force-wide mobility agreement.
  • Up to 25% travel.

Pay

$169,279 - $197,200 per year.
