Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ACNP or PA to join our Cardiology team. This hybrid position combines inpatient and outpatient clinical responsibilities with key administrative duties.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Support cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery services by managing patient evaluations, follow-ups and coordination of care across settings.
  • In the inpatient setting, responsibilities include rounding, collaborating with the care team and assisting with procedures as appropriate.
  • Outpatient duties involve seeing patients in clinic, conducting pre- and post-operative assessments and supporting continuity of care.

Administrative Duties

  • Take an active role in administrative functions such as quality reporting, ensuring billing compliance and working closely with the quality team to support program goals.
  • Lead and facilitate structural heart team meetings, contributing to strategic planning and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Schedule

The schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm, offering a consistent daytime shift that supports both patient care and administrative engagement.

Position Requirements

  • Licenses/Certifications: Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Tennessee. BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward. Current ACLS. Licensed as an Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee. Licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in the state of Tennessee. National certification in a specialty (such as ACNP, ANP, CCNS, FNP).
  • Training: BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward. Certificate of fitness from the state of Tennessee.

Department Position Summary

The APP will support both inpatient and outpatient cardiothoracic surgery and structural heart services. In addition to direct patient care, the role includes administrative responsibilities such as quality reporting, billing compliance and leading the structural heart meetings. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:00pm.
