ACE Centers (HCPS) - Nurse Aide Instructor

Location: Advanced Career Ed Ctr at Hermitage - 8300 Hermitage High Boulevard, Henrico

This is a full-time, 11-month (239-day) position with a contractual start date of July 20, 2026.

About the Role

Henrico County Public Schools' Advanced Career and Education (ACE) programs prepare students for both public and private sector careers by providing high-quality instructional training, hands-on learning experiences, and apprenticeship opportunities across a wide range of industry and medical fields. These programs equip graduates with essential job-entry skills while also offering pathways to licensure or certification upon successful completion.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction and learning experiences that support students' academic growth, critical thinking, and workforce development.
• Create an engaging, inclusive, and safe learning environment aligned with state standards, curriculum frameworks, and school goals.
• Plan and implement lessons, assess student progress, and provide feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues, families, and the community.
• Plan, deliver, and assess instruction using a competency-based education model.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain current knowledge of curriculum, instructional practices, and industry trends.
• Maintain a working knowledge of current industry safety standards and ensure their incorporation into instruction.
• Support and promote student participation in internships and apprenticeships with local employers.

Requirements

• A VDOE Technical Professional Teaching License with an endorsement in the relevant field is required.
• Candidates who hold a relevant state-approved credential and have at least two years of full-time experience within the past five years in this trade or profession are strongly encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, sit, and move throughout the classroom and school building.
• Ability to lift or move instructional materials up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to monitor students in various settings, including classrooms, hallways, and school grounds.

Pay

Minimum salary: $68,227. Salary will be prorated based on the official start date.
