Accounts Receivable & Member Billing Accountant

About the role
This full-time position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of member billing, accounts receivable, and daily financial transactions while providing exceptional service to our membership. The successful candidate will work closely with the Accounting Department, Club Operations, and Members in a fast-paced hospitality environment that values accuracy, professionalism, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Review, research, and resolve accounts receivable discrepancies by preparing exception reports and collaborating with department managers.
- Process approved credit memos and account adjustments.
- Audit daily point of sales (POS) transactions and reconcile end-of-day activities.
- Prepare and distribute monthly member statements and process daily banquet billings.
- Process member payments and reconcile cash, checks, and electronic payments.
- Respond promptly and professionally to member billing questions and account inquiries.
- Process and reconcile credit card transactions.
- Prepare weekly and monthly aging reports and monitor past-due accounts; communicate with members regarding outstanding balances.
- Reconcile accounts receivable to the general ledger.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures related to accounts receivable.
- Assist with annual dues billing.
- Process daily income journals and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Support internal and external audit requests.
- Maintain accurate documentation and filing of member billing records.
- Assist with other accounting and finance projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Two or more years of accounts receivable, billing, or accounting experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with Northstar Club Management software is preferred.
- Experience working in hospitality, private clubs, hotels, or restaurants is a plus.
