About the role
The Accounts Receivable Manager oversees the entire department including customer service, transaction entry, receptionist desk, refunds, billing, collections, and other support areas. This role is directly responsible for creating, managing, and monitoring processes associated with Patient Accounting functions.
Responsibilities
- Staff development, training, hiring, coaching, discipline, and accountabilities associated with the staff’s job performance are to be developed and administered by the Manager.
- Key processes within the Patient Accounting area include patient billing, insurance claims filing, insurance follow-up, self-pay follow-up, bad debt referrals, charity classification, and contractual adjustments.
- Process compliance by the staff is the responsibility of the Patient Accounting Manager.
- The performance of OakBend Medical Center accounts receivables depends on the effectiveness of the Manager.
Requirements
- Minimum Education: Associate degree or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum Work Experience: Two years of job-related experience.
- Required Licenses/Certifications: Must be computer literate; possess good verbal and written communication skills, and excellent analytical skills.

Schedule
Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, additional hours may be required due to increase in workload, assignment, and completion of special projects. Must be flexible if required to work long or irregular hours. Some weekends/holidays may be required. Hours may fluctuate due to volume.
