About the role

This role involves performing a variety of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks at field sites, accounts payable, accounts receivables, and payroll liaison activities. It also includes reconciling bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in various ledgers, inputting timesheet data, verifying documents and codes, processing payments, and compiling segments of monthly closings and annual reports. The role requires supporting the organization's mission, values, and culture, providing information as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department, and other stakeholders, and managing collections.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks at field sites, accounts payable, accounts receivables, and payroll liaison activities
  • Reconcile bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in various ledgers
  • Input timesheet data
  • Verify of documents and codes
  • Process payments and compiling segments of monthly closings and annual reports
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Provides information as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholder
  • Contacts existing clients to help resolve payment issues; assists in setting up payment plans

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in accounting or a similar field
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage)
  • Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
