Accounts Receivable Clerk

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Walbridge, Ohio. This Contract to permanent position involves managing accounts receivable processes and providing administrative support to the accounting department. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the accounting cycle, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and customers.

Responsibilities

• Process and record accounts receivable transactions, including verifying, classifying, and posting data accurately.
• Monitor and apply customer deposits while ensuring accuracy in financial records.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies in collaboration with customers.
• Perform monthly reconciliation of accounts receivable balances to ensure accuracy.
• Handle billing and collection activities to maintain timely cash flow.
• Review project finances and collaborate with project managers to ensure proper accounting practices.
• Assist with internal and external reporting and reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
• Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, and colleagues to resolve transaction-related issues.
• Support the accounting team with additional financial and administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage time efficiently.
• Experience working with diverse teams and external stakeholders with attention to detail.
• Associate degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with job costing practices is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts receivable, including billing, collections, and cash applications.
