Accounts Receivable Clerk

About the Role

Peterson Cat has a need for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to work at our San Leandro, CA location. This position performs lead accounts receivable and accounting duties, responsible for processing cash-inflow activities of the Credit Department. You will serve as a conduit to identify business partner issues such as disputes with customers and summarize information so that issues can be resolved. Additionally, you will support the internal control assessment activity for the Finance organization by working collaboratively with various operational groups.

Working under general supervision, you will perform work usually not subject to direct verification, involving duties that require the exercise of independent judgment and good knowledge of accounting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review transactions for completeness, accuracy, and authorization.
• Compile and post transactions to designated accounts; assemble data following specified format; perform calculations and prepare summaries.
• Balance accounts; identify and reconcile account discrepancies.
• Prepare various accounting reports; compile and verify data for reports and records.
• Handle internal inquiries regarding the processing of transactions; investigate and reconcile complaints as assigned.
• Compose and process correspondence related to assigned accounting areas.
• Assist in the training and development of accounts receivable staff as needed.
• Support adherence to company policies, rules, and regulations; assist in maintaining a high level of productivity and morale.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
• Respectfully take direction from supervisor/manager.
• Travel to branch locations, events, training meetings, or conferences as business needs arise.
• Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 3 months of directly related experience and/or training, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Pay

The hourly pay range for this position is $26.50 - $30.00. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.
