Job Responsibilities
The Accounts Receivable Clerk prepares and processes accounts receivable transactions for the College. The position performs a variety of clerical, accounting, and bookkeeping duties, including posting, updating, reconciling, routine auditing, and preparing summary financial and statistical reports.
- Maintain dual enrollment program receivables in compliance with applicable regulations and program authorizations.
- Maintain and process state and local program student sponsorships in accordance with program authorizations.
- Monitor and communicate with companies and students regarding past-due invoices, and follow established collection procedures to minimize delinquent accounts and support timely payment.
- Serve as the first point of contact for student finance-related issues.
- Process company grants and apprenticeships for Continuing Education in accordance with eligibility requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including accounts receivable data entry, research, charge transfers, preparing checks, and student refunds.
- Cross-train to perform all accounts receivable, Bursar, and cashiering-related functions of the department.
- Participate in College activities and committees as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
- A high school diploma and experience in entry-level accounting or bookkeeping.
- A bachelor's degree may be substituted for required work experience.
- One year of accounts receivable or bookkeeping experience in higher education is preferred.
