Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager
Responsibilities
- Direct the day-to-day accounts payable function, ensuring invoices are reviewed, coded, and processed accurately within established deadlines.
- Supervise payment activities, including check runs and ACH transactions, to maintain timely and accurate vendor disbursements.
- Monitor invoice approvals and resolve discrepancies with internal teams and external vendors to prevent payment delays.
- Lead and support accounts payable staff by assigning work, reviewing output, and promoting consistent process execution.
- Maintain organized payment records and documentation to support audits, reporting needs, and compliance standards.
- Evaluate current payable procedures and recommend improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and internal control.
- Partner with finance and operations stakeholders to address vendor inquiries and ensure smooth coordination across departments.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing or supervising accounts payable operations in a fast-paced business environment.
- Strong working knowledge of invoice coding, payment processing, check runs, and ACH transactions.
- Able to review financial documents carefully and identify errors, inconsistencies, or missing information.
- Experience leading a team, setting priorities, and maintaining productivity across multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency with accounting systems and standard business software used for payables administration.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with vendors and cross-functional internal teams.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Relevant work experience in accounts payable management is required, with a minimum of 5 years of experience. Leadership experience and a CPA certification are preferred but not required.
