Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager

About the role

The client is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead and enhance their AP function during a critical period of operational improvement. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys driving process improvements, strengthening internal controls, and working alongside their team to achieve results. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable working within manual processes, and is committed to seeing projects through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day Accounts Payable operations while providing guidance and support to the AP team.
• Evaluate, improve, and implement AP processes and internal controls to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Closely monitor and manage Days Payable Outstanding (DPO) while maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting company cash flow objectives.
• Identify opportunities to streamline manual processes and recommend best practices.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze data, reconcile accounts, and develop reporting.
• Work extensively within Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP).
• Partner with Accounting and Finance leadership to ensure timely month-end close support and accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives throughout the engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive Accounts Payable experience, including leadership or management responsibilities.
• Experience improving AP workflows, implementing controls, and driving process efficiencies.
• Strong understanding of Accounts Payable best practices and working capital management, including DPO.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
• Experience using Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP) is strongly preferred.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Pay

$90,000 - $105,000 (DOE)
