Accounts Payable Specialist

South County Mental Health Center, Inc. is a private, non-profit, Joint Commission-accredited behavioral healthcare provider serving Southeast Palm Beach County. We are dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality mental health services to individuals and families in our community.

Responsibilities

• Compare invoices with Purchase Orders and Receiving
• Coding invoices
• Entering invoices in computer
• Posting all entries to general ledger
• Run checks on computer
• Post checks to general ledger
• Match checks with invoices
• Prepare checks for approvals and signing
• Disburse checks
• File check copies and invoices
• Answer payment inquiries and maintain clear communication with suppliers

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Six (6) months of accounting experience

Qualifications

• AA/AS in Accounting or related field (preferred)
• Experience in a non-profit organization (preferred)
• High attention to detail and analytical ability
• Ability to interpret and apply regulatory standards
• Effective communication and presentation skills
• Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
• Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement

Physical Demands

• Primarily sedentary work with occasional standing and walking
• Ability to use standard office equipment and computer systems
• Occasional movement throughout facility for audits and meetings

Working Conditions

• Professional office environment
• Frequent interaction with leadership, clinical staff, and regulatory bodies
• May require participation in audits, inspections, or urgent compliance matters
• Standard business hours with occasional extended hours as needed

Schedule

• Full-Time Position
• Monday – Friday (hours may vary based on organizational needs)
• In-person (Delray Beach, FL)
