Accounts Payable Specialist

About the role

MCR Health is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will receive, code, enter, and follow payments through the entire accounts payable life cycle. You’ll review vendor statements for past-due and aging activities, resolve issues within the scope of the role, and escalate to the AP Manager as needed. You will also assist the Finance Department with month-end closing of accounts payable and maintain open communication with leadership on MCR operations and key performance indicators related to your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Process and resolve vendor-related payments in conjunction with the Finance Department
• Receive, code, enter, and track payments through the full accounts payable cycle
• Review vendor statements for past-due and aging activities; resolve issues or escalate to the AP Manager
• Assist the Finance Department with month-end closing of accounts payable
• Maintain open communication with the Finance Department leadership team on operational status and key performance indicators
• Obtain and maintain any required certifications

Requirements

• Associate degree in accounting with 2+ years’ accounts payable experience OR HS/GED with 5+ years’ accounts payable experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with Great Plains accounting software (a plus)
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) (a plus)
