Our client, a fast-growing Personal Injury law firm in Buckhead, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work from home two days a week after a 6-8 week training period and demonstrated accuracy. The firm provides opportunities for social interaction and professional growth as the accounting team expands.

Responsibilities

  • Process payments for medical records, police reports, and vendor invoices using online portals or issuing checks as needed.
  • Record financial transactions in QuickBooks (QBO), ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Maintain and update settlement logs, including deposit details and relevant case information.
  • Manage trust account transactions, including checks and ACH payments, with meticulous attention to compliance and accuracy.
  • Process voids, one-off checks, and positive pay exceptions while ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Communicate with vendors and staff regarding W9s, returned checks, fee reductions, and case-specific updates.
  • Monitor bank accounts daily for discrepancies, fraudulent activity, or returned transactions, and take corrective actions.
  • Assist with 1099 corrections, vendor updates, and IRS TIN matching.
  • Support staff with accounting-related inquiries and follow up on outstanding tasks.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities to meet the evolving needs of the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of Accounts Payable experience; previous law firm experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Truist financial apps, and Bill.com. Experience with Filevine is a plus.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, formulas).
  • Knowledge of GAAP Principles.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Collaborative, team-player mindset with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.

Benefits

  • Salary of $70,000 - $75,000, depending on experience.
  • Opportunity to earn a quarterly bonus.
