Accounts Payable Specialist
Job Description
This position will monitor assigned accounts to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of payments. Obtain appropriate approval of invoices and review for accuracy of information. Coordinate activities of A/P Department when the supervisor is out of the office.
- Ability to independently manage all check runs.
- Provide support to other agency divisions in researching disbursement issues.
- Review batches for accuracy.
- Print checks and Submit ACH payments through the bank.
- Handle escalated accounts payable issues and serve as a reliable backup to Accounts Payable Supervisor.
- Facilitate the training of new employees within the department.
- Aid in the preparation of yearly 1099 forms.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience: At least three years of accounts payable experience.
- Education: Requires two years of college or technical certificate.
- Licenses and Certification: Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Must have knowledge of accounting principles and account payable practices and procedures.
- Must have the ability to supervise and train subordinates.
- Must have good communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Must have experience with spreadsheets and automated accounting systems.
- Familiarity with online banking systems is a plus.
Pay
Grade 18: Min: $57,173 - Mid: $74,886 - Max: $92,599 | Salary determined by departmental budget- Offer commensurate with experience
