About the Role
Cleerly is expanding its accounting team and seeks an AP Specialist. Candidates with experience in health software & technology, healthcare, or medical devices will be prioritized. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and supports the Finance and Accounting team with strong analytical and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and process invoices in Bill.com to determine correct expense classification and payment terms.
- Proficiently use Concur and Ramp.com for expense management.
- Review and analyze vendor and contractor contracts to determine proper accounting treatment.
- Analyze invoices and set up appropriate expense amortization schedules for prepaid expenses.
- Analyze cash needs on a weekly basis.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
- Analyze and evaluate payments to healthcare providers to ensure compliance with the Sunshine Act.
- Assist in internal and external audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Manage vendor relations and build effective partnerships.
- Investigate and resolve problems associated with processing invoices.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
- Monitor and control expenses to align with the budget.
- Utilize accounting software and systems efficiently.
- Timely file 1099’s.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 2-3 years of experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
- Proficiency in NetSuite and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
- SAP Concur experience is required.
- Bill.com and Ramp.com experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to be a self-starter and embrace daily change.
- Effective communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask.
Pay
The base salary range for this role varies by location and is aligned to market benchmarks. Candidates in higher-cost labor markets (e.g., California, Washington, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Washington, DC) represent the middle to high end of the range, while candidates in other U.S. locations represent the low to middle end. Final compensation is determined based on location, experience, skills, and internal equity.
- Base Salary: $70,000 - $80,000
- Total Target Compensation (TTC): $77,000 - $88,000 (includes base pay and a 10% target annual bonus)
Additional compensation may include stock options, paid benefits, and employee perks.
