Accounts Payable Specialist

Supportive mentorship: Work with a manager who enjoys teaching, coaching, and developing her teamRoom to grow: Learn additional accounting responsibilities as your skills and interests developVariety in your day: Combine invoice processing with research, problem-solving, and collaborationBusiness exposure: Partner with purchasing, operations, and project teams to understand how your work supports the business Accounts Payable Responsibilities Process approximately 40–60 vendor invoices daily with accurate coding and documentationMatch invoices against purchase orders and receiving recordsResearch pricing differences, missing receipts, incorrect quantities, and other discrepanciesThe accounts payable specialist will follow up with internal teams to secure approvals and resolve outstanding itemsAssign expenses to the appropriate account, department, location, or projectReconcile vendor statements and investigate credits, duplicate invoices, and open balancesAssist with payment preparation and respond to vendor questionsSupport month-end activities, including identifying outstanding invoices and providing accrual informationSuggest practical ways to improve invoice flow and reduce recurring issues Accounts Payable Qualifications At least two years of accounts payable or related accounting experienceExperience handling a busy invoice workload and resolving discrepanciesFamiliarity with purchase orders, invoice matching, vendor reconciliations, and payment proceduresStrong organization, attention to detail, and follow-throughComfort communicating with vendors and colleagues across departmentsWorking knowledge of Excel and an accounting or ERP system in distribution, manufacturing, building products, construction, or another purchase-order-driven environment is a plus.
