Accounts Payable Specialist

This 3-month contract role offers the chance to take ownership of the invoice-to-payment process, build strong vendor relationships, and contribute immediately—with potential for extension based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Process a high volume of PO and non-PO invoices with precision and efficiency
• Perform 3-way matching between invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation
• Obtain approvals for non-PO invoices and resolve discrepancies
• Enter, code, and maintain invoices in the accounting system
• Reconcile vendor statements and research outstanding balances
• Prepare and process ACH, wire, and check payments
• Respond to vendor inquiries and foster positive relationships
• Assist with month-end close, including AP accruals and reporting
• Maintain organized AP records and audit-ready documentation
• Follow internal controls, accounting procedures, and company policies
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve invoice and payment issues quickly

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3–5 years of Accounts Payable or general accounting experience
• Hands-on experience with accounting/ERP systems
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Sharp attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume environments
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
• Excellent communication and vendor relationship management
