Job Summary
The Accounts Payable Manager is a key leadership role responsible for driving the performance, accuracy, and efficiency of Nextech’s Accounts Payable operations. This position leads, coaches, and develops a high-performing AP team while ensuring timely invoice processing, payment execution, and compliance with company standards.
Responsibilities
- Drive team performance by coaching, mentoring, and developing AP Coordinators, Leads, Trainers.
- Oversee invoice processing, payment execution, and budget reporting with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Implement structured onboarding and training programs, ensuring all team members are fully trained within six weeks.
- Conduct weekly quality audits and monthly one-on-ones to maintain high standards and identify development opportunities.
- Partner with service teams and leadership to quickly resolve escalated AP issues and strengthen cross-functional collaboration.
- Manage AP calendars, workflows, and deadlines to ensure all daily, weekly, and monthly priorities are completed on time.
- Analyze data and generate insights to improve vouchering efficiency, accuracy, and overall financial operations.
- Maintain and improve AP manuals, ensuring procedures stay current and aligned with company standards.
- Facilitate weekly team meetings to align on priorities, performance, and opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee staffing schedules, including rotating Saturdays when needed, to ensure operational coverage.
- Deliver performance evaluations and provide strategic feedback to strengthen team effectiveness.
Requirements
- Proven experience in finance/accounting with demonstrated leadership success.
- 3+ years of related Accounts Payable or financial operations experience.
- Strong ability to coach, develop, and lead high-performing teams.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Experience analyzing financial data and driving process improvements.
- Strong working knowledge of accounts payable processes and basic collections practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and accountability.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
- Experience in HVAC or service-based industries is a plus.
- Continuous ability to work in an office environment.
- Continuous ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, telephone, and computer printer.
- Continuous ability to sit at a computer for up to 8 hours.
- Occasionally able to lift up to 15 lbs.
- Rarely requires climbing.
- Must be able to work full time in Melbourne, FL office.
