Responsibilities
- Supervise and provide direction to Accounts Payable staff of up to 10-15 members.
- Implement the plan designed by the Controller and CFO to achieve accounts payable goals, monitor/measure payable performance, and provide support/reporting to branch management.
- Communicate openly with upper management.
- Organize vendor maintenance and develop/maintain close working relationships with vendors and branches.
- Research and resolve accounts payable issues with vendors and branches for validity and accuracy.
- Maintain a clean Accounts Payable Aging report.
- Develop separation of duties within the A/P department and ensure cooperation among team members.
- Take responsibility for resolving issues as they arise and solving problems.
- Collaborate with the broader Accounts Payable group (company-wide scale).
- Support an accounting team that processes approximately 1 million invoices per year.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience within the distribution, manufacturing, and services industries.
- 8+ years of Accounts Payable management experience.
- GL coding experience.
- Experience with audits at a publicly traded company with revenue over $1 billion in sales.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel (knowledge of V-Lookup, Pivot Tables, and Functions is advantageous).
- Experience with Coupa automation software strongly preferred.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for leadership and vendor management.
- Strong computer/data entry, organization, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping, including GAAP and accounting systems.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to organize the A/P department.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
