About the role

The incumbent oversees accounts payable activities, adhering to best practices and maintaining current systems and procedures for the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all aspects of the department.
  • Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including year-end 1099 vendor reports.
  • Researches and resolves any variances in department paperwork.
  • Maintains timely and accurate records and files.
  • Reviews for accuracy and appropriate signatures, processes computer-generated payments, prepares payment request vouchers, and researches variances on invoices.
  • Responds to program inquiries regarding accounts payable.
  • Maintains vendor files and prepares and updates credit applications for the organization.
  • Creates and updates spreadsheets for billing allocations.
  • Processes travel requests/reports and arranges flight itineraries for all FNA staff.
  • Schedule monthly deposits of Board of Directors taxes withheld.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of customer service concepts and practices.
  • Understanding and sensitivity to diverse cultures and lifestyles, as well as cross-cultural communication styles.
  • Skills in operating personal computer utilizing a variety of computer software.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Skills in oral and written communication.
  • Skills in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.
  • Ability to report to work in a timely manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all records and information.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with teams.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in fund accounting or related field, with at least six (6) months experience in Accounts Payable.
  • A combination of experience, education, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may substitute for degree requirements.
  • Prior experience in accounts payable is preferred, with a minimum of five (5) years of accounts payable experience.
  • An associates degree in accounting or related field is preferred.
