About the role
Under the direct supervision of the Accounts Payable Manager, you will assist in the Accounts Payable activities of EAS and utilize Excel skills to prepare accounts payable tasks (Job Cost, Cost Code, GL, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance of EAS departmental records and create new job files.
- Maintain vendor accounts while staying in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Enter accounts payable invoices in accounting software using a three-way match process.
- Code other A/P invoices not associated with a purchase order.
- Maintain yearly vendor files.
- Work with project managers and other authorized purchasers to ensure correct and timely payments to vendors.
- Verify and investigate discrepancies by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma. An associate's degree in accounting is preferred.
- A minimum of two years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles, procedures, and standards.
- Strong understanding of job costing is a plus.
- High degree of attention to detail and ability to identify and correct errors.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well with others.
- Must be physically present to perform these duties.
